WINDOW-SILLS - LEDGES AND FLASHING
ARTIFICIAL STONE
Description
The word alfeizar (sill) that comes from the Arabic al - fasha, is a constructive element that corresponds to the low part of the window. Its purpose is to ensure rain water does not enter the building and is often angled or sloped. Window-sills along with flashing and guttering ensure that water exits quickly and does not penetrate the building. The sill is one of the critical points in the constructive projection of buildings.
